Rockpanel

Rockcycle - collection and recycling of Rockpanel facade cladding

Take-back of materials is an important link in circular construction. Materials are returned to the manufacturer at the end of their useful life. Rockwool solutions provider ROCKWOOL does this with its recycling service 'Rockcycle'. Using reverse logistics they collect rock wool and Rockpanel residues on building sites and from distributors who sell the facade boards:

- Rockwool residue is reused as a secondary raw material in the ROCKWOOL recycling plant, to produce new high quality rockwool products. In fact rockwool can be recycled into new rockwool over and over again: this is an important aspect of the circular cycle model and it fits in with ROCKWOOL's vision of helping to build sustainable, future-proof cities;

- Rockpanel facade boards consist of up to 50% recycled materials. After the life of a building the Rockpanel boards can easily be dismantled and reused for other applications and/or recycling. The facade cladding is fully recyclable without loss of quality.

Since 1992 ROCKWOOL has had its own recycling plant, where rockwool residues from its own factory and from construction sites are reused to produce new rockwool products. Rockcycle is a new service from ROCKWOOL to help customers collect rock wool waste from construction sites. In this way they can work together to close the loop.
