Companies must sort better, both for the law and for a more sustainable world: 50% of the residual waste containers contain recyclable material. This project tests an ambitious total approach for better material and waste management on the industrial park Grensland Menen-Wervik.
First, we make an inventory of the raw materials and residual flows at participating SMEs and consult private collectors, processors and upcycling companies. With this inventory, we determine which material flows we can collect, how best to collect them and what high-quality destination (as raw materials for other companies) they can be given. We also calculate a financial model for this. The companies also receive tips to limit production losses and to make their purchasing policy circular.
Communication and community management are given a prominent place in this project. We need to enthuse the participating SMEs, their employees and our partners (customised companies, local authorities, schools...) and keep them involved in the progress.
During the project, we will look at how the work can be continued in a final structure.
