Build-Value

For a cross-border, sustainable construction industry

The Interreg project Build-Value promotes the use of sustainable building materials.

A sector in transition
The construction sector is undergoing major changes. Increasing attention is being paid to the environmental impact of all materials used. Materials of biological and geological origin offer an excellent opportunity to reduce the sector’s ecological footprint and collectively build a sustainable practice.

On three levels
Target on the horizon: 2050. By then, the construction sector should be completely carbon-free. In this context, the Interreg project Build-Value encourages the use of ecological building materials through three levels of intervention:
•    Characterizing ecological building materials to inform the sector about their performance.
•    Convincing stakeholders to use these materials through training and other targeted actions.
•    Changing habits by supporting and mobilizing all players in the construction sector during cross-sector meetings.
To broaden the reach, knowledge sharing and collaboration on bio-circular materials between the regions of Northern France, Wallonia, and East and West Flanders is encouraged. All stakeholders in the value chain are involved: from farmers and suppliers to developers and contractors.

Build-Value is a project funded by the Interreg France-Wallonia-Flanders program.
