Architecture with local raw materials

BC Architects transforms soil into building materials such as clay bricks, rammed earth, clay plasters, etc. and helps architects, contractors and building owners with applications to make building materials on site. After use, the materials can be returned to the soil or be transformed into building materials again in an infinite circular process.

BC also organises workshops to transfer knowledge and lower the threshold to the use of locally sourced materials. The workshops are aimed at children, students, professionals...

Building requires as a first step to excavate soil. This soil is difficult to store and to transport. Flanders digs up 21 million tonnes a year. About 75% of it is unpolluted, and 40% of this soil is used in a non-circular way in road construction or dumped in pits.
